Media
Boomtown was founded in 2007, when Dan Almoney and Ed Fox
expressed a desire to tell stories and work on projects that
they felt passionate about. The first of those being their
debut documentary, “Pure Imagination: The Secrets Of
Comics Creation.”
Witnessing a dramatic shift in the way media is produced,
distributed and consumed, Media Boomtown continues to grow
and put its hard-working, do-it-yourself attitude to work.
We achieve professional results with affordable budgets that
will help you make a great impression on your audience.
We
hope you’ll see that Media Boomtown is the group who
can find the gold in your message, and the best place to
stake your claim. After all, it’s your story and we’d
love to tell it.

| Dan
is all about the team. There’s nothing quite as rewarding
for Dan as seeing a team come together, watching it gel, and
helping it become the best it can be. It’s been a common
theme in his life and his work. Dan
caught the promotions and marketing bug early on during
an internship at Rite-Off Records. An avid musician himself,
Dan loved the chance to work with some of his favorite bands.
It was a second internship at WGAL-TV in Lancaster, though,
that helped solidify his passion for video production, and
led him to a full time position on the promotions team of
WHTM-TV, the ABC affiliate in Harrisburg, PA.
While at WHTM-TV, Dan was involved in all facets of production.
From writing, shooting and editing to directing, supervising
and implementation of promotional spots and campaigns.
|
 |
Over
time, the “promotions guy” produced some of the
station’s most ambitious and memorable spots. Then he
got promoted himself; when he became the station’s Assistant
Promotions Manager. Dan’s work has been recognized twice
for its originality and quality by the Pennsylvania Association
of Broadcasters.
Dan has a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Lock Haven University
of Pennsylvania, where he graduated Magnum Cum Laude and as
a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He is an avid
Pittsburgh Penguins fan, and he’s done a few stints
as a little league umpire, but his favorite team always plays
at home. That would be the team consisting of his college
sweetheart-turned wife Michelle and his beautiful daughter.
Creative,
detail-oriented, and extremely passionate, Dan is a real
asset to your project and ready to be a coach or player
on your team.

Ed
can see life through the lens of a video-camera, and has a
gift for storytelling. Whether the story he’s telling
belongs to a person, a company or a product, he has an innate
ability to take the smallest details that make the biggest
difference and bring them to life. Call it a love for people
or a desire to make a difference. Either way, Ed’s work
is unique, entertaining and award-winning.
Ed began his career as a photojournalist with WBOC-TV, the
CBS affiliate in Salisbury, Maryland more than two decades
ago. While his love for the beach was a definite draw, it
couldn’t compete with his love of home. In 1993, Ed
was fortunate to join the ranks of the highly-acclaimed staff
at WHTM-TV, the ABC affiliate in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania,
and a station known for its creative work. Ed produced and/or
participated in countless projects across departments, from
daily news gathering and script writing to promotional spots
and long format production and writing.
|
 |
Ed
was far more than a photojournalist, handling stories and
projects from pre-production through the creative process
and post-production.
Awards aren’t his motivation, but he’s won a lot
of them along the way; three regional Emmy awards, along with
recognition from The National Academy of Television Arts and
Sciences, Associated Press, National Press Photographers Association
and the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters.
After more than a decade telling other people’s stories,
Ed wanted to expand his own. So, he seized the opportunity
to become Creative Director of a small marketing firm in Harrisburg,
where he helped craft the message for two winning political
candidates. In addition, he produced effective long-format
messages, compelling video news releases and marketing videos.
He relishes in the challenge of finding the details that matter,
in listening for the message with meaning, and creating a
rewarding experience for his customers.
Ed is a Penn State graduate with a degree in Broadcast/Cable
Communication. He is also a husband and a brand new father. |
